DIE FLEDERMAUS - Stadttheater Klagenfurt - Bericht KT 1

The bat is the epitome of Viennese joie de vivre and waltz frenzy. She is firmly anchored in the audience's consciousness as the "queen of operettas" with her stirring waltz melodies. The effective libretto, based on a French frivolous social satire, was tailor-made for Johann Strauss. It gave him enough space for his music and triggered a real creative frenzy in him. The numbers, songs, ensembles, dance and couplets develop easily, charmingly and naturally - one from the other.
The director is Olivier Tambosi, who is known to Carinthian audiences from numerous productions at the Stadttheater. Eisenstein is Jörg Schneider, a member of the Vienna Volksoper, and Christiane Boesiger takes on the role of Rosalinde. Karl Sibelius, designated artistic director at the Trier Theater, has Carinthian roots and appears as a frog.
