The oratorio “The Creation” by Joseph Haydn focuses on the creation of the world as it is told in the first chapter of Genesis. The work, composed for a four-part choir, three vocal soloists and a large orchestra, was a resounding success when it was first performed in 1798 and is still one of Haydn's most popular compositions to this day.
