Concerto Köln dives into Wagner again
As in Das Rheingold, for Die Walküre, conductor and orchestra are looking for an orchestral sound and text interpretation that match the means and views of Wagner's time. This is in good hands with the renowned Concerto Köln, supplemented by exceptional musicians and soloists.

The most popular part from Der Ring des Nibelungen.
Of the four parts of the Ring, Die Walküre is the most popular, mainly because here we are introduced to the glowing love of Siegmund and Sieglinde, an unfortunate twin couple who will eventually give birth to the hero Siegfried, though they will both die for it. The opera also contains by far the Ring's most famous melody, the martial Walkürenrit at the beginning of the third act. Die Walküre premiered in Munich in 1870, along with Das Rheingold, at the insistence of King Ludwig II, an ardent Wagnerian. Six years later, in 1876, the composer performed the entire tetralogy in Bayreuth
