On the occasion of the "Festival de Música y Reflexión" at the Teatro Colón, Daniel Barenboim and his West Eastern Divan Orchestra celebrate the centenary of two exceptional Argentine musicians: Alberto Ginastera, important creator of modern classical music with folkloric elements, and Horacio Salgán, whose voice developed of Argentine tango in the 20th century. Both were born in 1916, Ginastera died in 1983, Salgán in August 2016, just three weeks after Barenboim paid homage to this "great tango personality" (Buenos Aires Herold). Anlässlich des "Festival de Música y Reflexión" im Teatro Colón feiern Daniel Barenboim und sein West Eastern Divan Orchestra den hundertsten Geburtstag von zwei außergewöhnlichen argentinischen Musikern: Alberto Ginastera, bedeutender Schöpfer moderner klassischer Musik mit folkloristischen Elementen, und Horacio Salgán, dessen Stimme die Entwicklung des argentinischen Tangos im 20. Jahrhundert entscheidend geprägt hat. Beide wurden 1916 geboren, Ginastera starb 1983, Salgán im August 2016, nur drei Wochen nach Barenboims Hommage an diese "große Tango-Persönlichkeit" (Buenos Aires Herold). Barenboim und das WEDO präsentieren mit "Solidität und Agilität" Ginasteras Violinkonzert sowie drei Tango-Kompositionen von Salgán.
