Elīna Garanča performs "Dievaines" from her new album "Meditation" on Deutsche Grammophon.
"Meditation" presents a beautiful selection of spiritual music dedicated to the eternal search and longing for inner peace. For this recording, Elīna Garanča is joined by her husband, the well-known Gibraltan conductor Karel Mark Chichon OBE.

"Dievaines" is a birthday song for the Latvian capital Riga, composed by Uģis Prauliņš in occasion of the cities 810th birthday. The song was first performed in a stadium park in Riga by a choir of more than 7.000 singers. 
According to old Baltic traditions the "Dievaines" (goddesses) carry life energy in the form of light. The song describes the goddesses wrapping mankind into an aura of light like "a silvery sparkling blanket", which enables us to grow and create..

Elīna Garanča – Prauliņš: Dievaines (EN version)

The highlight of this year's edition will be the gala concert of an opera star of the absolute highest world class – the charismatic diva Elīna Garanči. The Latvian mezzo-soprano performing on exclusive stages (Metropolitan Opera in New York, Royal Opera Garden in London or Vienna State Opera, Salzburg Festival, etc.) will now return to the Czech Republic after a long time. Her only concert in our country will not take place in a huge sports hall, as one might expect, but in a completely unique temple atmosphere in the heart of Ostrava. Her brand new program " full of fragile tenderness and delicacy, when everyone's soul will finally be able to find a moment to stop and rest in its beauty " will be heard, as Garanča herself explains.

Výrazným klenotem letošního ročníku se stane galakoncert operní hvězdy absolutně nejvyšší světové třídy – charismatické divy Elīny Garanči. Lotyšská mezzosopranistka vystupující na exkluzivních pódiích (Metropolitní opera v New Yorku, Royal Opera Garden v Londýně či Vídeňská státní opera, Salcburský festival aj.) se nyní po delší době navrátí do Česka. Její jediný koncert u nás se nebude konat v obrovské sportovní hale, jak by se dalo čekat, ale v naprosto unikátní chrámové atmosféře v srdci Ostravy. Zazní její zbrusu nový program „plný křehké něhy a jemnosti, kdy duše každého bude moci konečně najít chvíli zastavení a spočinout ve své kráse“ jak přibližuje sama Garanča.
