OпераСценическая постановка
Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais (1732-1799), court watchmaker, inventor, writer, diplomat and adventurer, offered Le barbier de Séville to the Comédiens of Italy as an opera libretto in 1772 . When they refused, he rewrote it into a play that celebrated a triumphant success in the Comédie-Française in 1775. Beaumarchais was so full of ideas for the fate of the characters around his jack of all trades Figaro that a whole trilogy was created, which exactly reflects the rapid development of social conditions in the last third of the 18th century. Giovanni Paisiello's setting of the first piece was commissioned by Catherine II in St. Petersburg in 1782 and quickly became extremely successful throughout Europe. In Seville, Rosina is looked after in his house by her guardian Bartolo, because since the young woman is beautiful and rich, Bartolo wants to marry her. But Rosina has another admirer: a student, Lindoro, has been secretly courting her for some time. She likes the young man much better than her guardian. Lindoro is the disguised Count Almaviva, known as a seducer. This time, however, he is seriously in love, he wants to make Rosina his wife, even though she is a middle-class woman. He assures himself of the help of Figaro, who as a doctor, pharmacist and barber has free access to the Bartolos house. Bartolo, however, has heard that the notorious Almaviva is in town and correctly suspects that he might be targeting his ward. He tries to hasten the marriage, but Figaro and Almaviva devise counter-intrusions.
