Direction and orchestral conducting in this production are entrusted to two young talents from the Italian scene: Roberto Catalano and Jacopo Brusa, who face the second title of popular Trilogy Verdi's Staged on January 19, 1853 at the Apollo Theater in Rome, Il Trovatore is one of Verdi's masterpieces, which, like Nabucco or Aida , transmits pathos, coups de théâtre , surprising dramaturgical moments, combined with pages of an overwhelming score, almost preceding that fusion of word, sound and stage action, which will become the primary ambition of colleague and rival Richard Wagner. The plot, quite complex, and is drawn from El Trovador by Antonio García Gutiérrez, and is set between Biscay and Aragon, at the beginning of the 15th century. The libretto, commissioned from the Neapolitan poet, Salvatore Cammarano, was completed, after the latter's death in 1852, by Leone Emanuele Bardare.

Regia e direzione d’orchestra sono in questa produzione affidate a due giovani talenti del panorama italiano: Roberto Catalano e Jacopo Brusa, che affrontano il secondo titolo della Trilogia popolare di Verdi. Andato in scena il 19 gennaio 1853 al Teatro Apollo di Roma, Il trovatore è uno dei capolavori verdiani, che, come Nabucco o Aida, trasmette pathos, coups de théâtre, sorprendenti momenti drammaturgici, abbinati a pagine di una partitura travolgente, quasi precedere quella fusione tra parola, suono e azione scenica, che diventerà ambizione primaria nel collega e rivale Richard Wagner. La trama, abbastanza complessa, ed è attinta da El Trovador di Antonio García Gutiérrez, ed è ambientata tra la Biscaglia e l’Aragona, all’inizio del XV secolo. Il libretto, commissionato al poeta napoletano, Salvatore Cammarano, venne ultimato, dopo la morte di quest’ultimo, avvenuta nel 1852, da Leone Emanuele Bardare.
