2023, pour l’Opéra de Lyon, marque le début de la célébration du 40e anniversaire de son Orchestre ; une magnifique occasion de retracer cette histoire, pendant les mois qui viennent, avec les directeurs musicaux qui l’ont marquée : Daniele Rustioni et ses prédécesseurs – Kent Nagano, Kazushi Ono. Chacun a apporté à l’Orchestre un répertoire et des couleurs particulières : de la musique russe à la musique du XXIe siècle, de la musique du XVIIIe siècle à la musique française romantique et moderne.

Kent Nagano was the musical director of the Opéra de Lyon from 1988 to 1998. Since 2015, he has been the musical director of the Staatsoper and the principal conductor of the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra. He returns to Lyon for an evening devoted to Beethoven, in three works under the sign of heroism: the overture to Egmont (incidental music written for a tragedy by Goethe), the concert aria Ah ! Perfido which features the dramatic soprano Nicole Car in majesty, and the monumental Symphony No. 3 Eroica, composed “to celebrate the memory of a great man”.

Kent Nagano fut le directeur musical de l’Opéra de Lyon de 1988 à 1998. Il est depuis 2015 le directeur musical du Staatsoper et le chef principal de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Hambourg. Il retrouve Lyon le temps d’une soirée consacrée à Beethoven, en trois oeuvres sous le signe de l’héroïsme : l’ouverture d’Egmont (musique de scène écrite pour une tragédie de Goethe), l’air de concert Ah ! Perfido qui fait entendre la soprano dramatique Nicole Car en majesté, et la monumentale Symphonie n°3 Eroica, composée « pour célébrer le souvenir d’un grand homme ».
