Puccini's Toaster - Pop-Up Oper Berlin continue their artistic collaboration with the former silent film cinema Delphi with their fourth opera production in this fantastic space:

»La Traviata« stands for the longing for intoxication, for disinhibition, for crossing the boundaries of convention and bourgeois. Giuseppe Verdi's perhaps most famous opera is therefore much more than a moral portrait of the time it was written: it shows the constant conflict between the desire to live in the moment on the one hand and the striving for order, security and structure on the other. She tells us the story of a woman who unconditionally decides for a life without restrictions, for freedom and individuality - and who has to experience how everyone else is only up to a certain point willing to follow this path; Violetta wants nothing more than to be independent, and yet she has to experience how the initial enthusiasm for her uncompromising attitude to life turns into skepticism,

In their innovative style, "Puccini's Toaster" present another music theater production at an unusual venue - casual, relaxed and yet musically and scenically on a high level. At the same time, the production is also the first appearance of the newly founded Kreuzberg camera.

Puccinis Toaster – Pop-Up Oper Berlin führen ihre künstlerische Zusammenarbeit mit dem ehemaligen Stummfilmkino Delphi mit ihrer bereits vierten Opernproduktion in diesem fantastischen Raum fort:

»La Traviata« steht für die Sehnsucht nach Rausch, nach Enthemmung, nach dem Überschreiten der Grenzen von Konvention und Bürgerlichkeit. Giuseppe Verdis vielleicht berühmteste Oper ist damit viel mehr als ein Sittengemälde ihrer Entstehungszeit: sie zeigt den immerwährenden Konflikt zwischen dem Wunsch nach einem Leben im Moment einerseits und dem Streben nach Ordnung, Sicherheit und Struktur andererseits. Sie erzählt uns die Geschichte einer Frau, die sich bedingungslos für ein Leben ohne Einschränkungen, für Freiheit und Individualität entscheidet – und die erleben muss, wie alle anderen nur bis zu einem gewissen Punkt bereit sind, diesen Weg mitzugehen; Violetta will nichts anderes, als unabhängig zu sein, und muss doch erleben, wie die anfängliche Begeisterung für ihre kompromisslose Lebenshaltung in Skepsis, Standesdünkel und Verlogenheit umkippt.

In ihrem innovativen Stil präsentieren “Puccinis Toaster” eine weitere Musiktheaterproduktion an einem ungewöhnlichen Spielort – lässig, locker und trotzdem musikalisch und szenisch auf hohem Niveau. Gleichzeitig ist die Produktion auch der erste Auftritt der neu gegründeten Kreuzberger Kamerata.
