L’Arche de Noé / making of

Eric Oberdorff et Frédéric Deloche ont trouvé avec L’Arche de Noé la matière idéale pour notre opéra participatif. Proposé dans sa traduction française, le splendide petit conte de Britten permettra en outre aux jeunes artistes du CFA de Nice de faire leurs premiers pas sur notre scène.

Après d’autres ouvrages destinés au jeune public, comme Le Petit Ramoneur ou encore la Saint Nicolas, Britten revient à ce format qui lui tenait tant à coeur avec L’Arche de Noé. Mêlant adultes et enfants pour donner vie à ce conte médiéval, le compositeur britannique offre une occasion rêvée de permettre aux amateurs et aux professionnels de se côtoyer pour le plus grand bonheur des petits et des grands. Ici, la célèbre histoire de Noé et du Déluge prend des couleurs pittoresques : on y trouve en effet un personnage inhabituel, Madame Noé, avec son caractère bien trempé… Britten en profite pour imaginer des musiques toujours plus inventives afin de suggérer tous les animaux que Noé embarque sur son arche pour les sauver du déluge divin, tout comme pour la tempête elle-même, moment d’anthologie s’il en est ! Un petit opéra participatif vraiment idéal pour venir découvrir l’opéra en famille !

Eric Oberdorff and Frédéric Deloche have found with L'Arche de Noé the ideal material for our participatory opera. Proposed in its French translation, Britten's splendid little tale will also allow young artists from the Nice CFA to take their first steps on our stage.

After other works intended for young audiences, such as Le Petit Chimney Sweep or Saint Nicolas, Britten returns to this format which was so dear to him with L'Arche de Noé. Mixing adults and children to bring this medieval tale to life, the British composer offers a dream opportunity to allow amateurs and professionals to rub shoulders to the delight of young and old alike. Here, the famous story of Noah and the Deluge takes on picturesque colors: there is indeed an unusual character, Madame Noah, with her strong character... Britten takes the opportunity to imagine ever more inventive music to suggest all the animals that Noah embarks on his ark to save them from the divine flood, just like for the storm itself, a moment of anthology if ever there was one!
