A small step for the man, a big step for the fairyland. Friends of fantasy and lovers of young talents, this Voyage to the moon is made for you.

 

Funny year for the opera: in 1875, President Mac Mahon had just inaugurated the Palais Garnier when Bizet died three months after the failure of Carmen Salle Favart. Offenbach, for his part, creates an incredible piece vaguely inspired by Jules Verne. That is to say about thirty paintings whose machinery will impress the public at La Gaîté, but an exorbitant launch which will prevent many revivals. The time has come to set out again to meet the Selenites, inhabitants of our satellite who, like the mythological characters of Orpheus in the Underworld or of La Belle Hélène, mock a certain society. Objective moon !
