“Luisa Miller” by Giuseppe Verdi is a romantic tragedy in three acts based on the play “Kabale und Liebe” (“Intrigue and Love”) by the German dramatist Friedrich von Schiller. In this work Verdi returns to his favourite topic – conflict among fathers, children and their lovers

The world premiere of the opera “Luisa Miller” was in Naples in December 8, 1849. Opera will be performed in Latvia for the first time. The music director and conductor of the concert performance will be the outstanding Italian opera interpreter Pier Giorgio Morandi.

Džuzepes Verdi opera Luīze Millere ir traģiska melodrāma trīs cēlienos pēc Frīdriha Šillera lugas Mīla un viltus motīviem. Darbā Verdi pievērsies sev iecienītai tēmai – mīlestības konfliktam starp tēviem, bērniem un viņu mīļotajiem cilvēkiem.

Luīze ir iemīlējusies Karlā, kura īstais vārds, izrādās, ir Rūdolfs. Viņa tēvam – nežēlīgajam grāfam Valteram ir ambiciozi plāni attiecībā uz dēla līgavas izvēli, kas nebūt nesaskan ar jauno mīlētāju nodomiem. Seko greizsirdība, nolaupīšana, šantāža un visbeidzot arī nāve.  

Operas Luīze Millere pirmizrāde notika 1849. gadā 8. decembrī Neapolē. Šis būs pirmais operas atskaņojums Latvijā.  Koncertizpildījuma muzikālais vadītājs un diriģents būs izcilais itāļu operu interprets Pjērs Džordžo Morandi (Pier Giorgio Morandi).
