Many Many Women by Petr Kotík is an extensive vocal composition from 1975-78 based on the text of Gertrude Stein, her novel-short story of the same name published in Paris in 1910. The text was published as part of the book GMP – Gertrude, Mattis, Piccasso and was republished in 1972 by Dick Higgins at his Something Else Press. Kotík used the entire text, which determined the length of the song. Inspired by the close collaboration with composer and singer Julius Eastman, Kotík began to compose a number of compositions for voice in 1971, from the very first composition Kotík used Gertrude Stein's lyrics. Many Many Women(1975–78) is the culmination of this series of compositions. It is a continuous singing and playing of instruments: two sopranos, countertenor, tenor, bass baritone, bass, 2 flutes, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones. Twelve musicians – singers and instrumentalists – play and sing continuously for six hours (although the piece can be performed in a shorter version with a smaller cast). The poetic nature of the text evokes ideas and images that can lead to a performance.

Many Many Women Petra Kotíka je rozsáhlá vokální skladba z let 1975–78 na text Gertrudy Stein, jejího stejnojmenného románu-povídky vydaného v Paříži roku 1910. Ten text vyšel jako část knihy G.M.P.  – Gertruda, Mattise, Piccasso a roku 1972 znovu knihu vydal Dick Higgins ve svém nakladatelství Something Else Press. Kotík použil celý text, což určilo délku skladby. Inspirován úzkou spoluprací se skladatelem a zpěvákem Juliusem Eastmanem, začal Kotík roku 1971 komponovat řadu kompozic pro hlas, hned od první skladby použil Kotík texty Gertrudy Stein. Many Many Women (1975–78) je vyvrcholením této série skladeb. Jedná se o kontinuální zpěv a hru na nástroje: dva soprány, kontratenor, tenor, basbaryton, bas, 2 flétny, 2 trubky, 2 trombóny. Dvanáct hudebníků – zpěváci a instrumentalisté – hrají a zpívají nepřerušeně šest hodin (i když lze skladbu provozovat v kratší verzi s menším obsazením). Poetický charakter textu vyvolává představy a obrazy, které mohou vést k inscenaci.
