Το Φεστιβάλ Κλασικής Μουσικής Odessa Classics, κορυφαίο πολιτιστικό γεγονός στον χώρο της κλασικής μουσικής, φιλοξενείται στη Θεσσαλονίκη από 9 έως 13 Ιουνίου 2022, με φορέα διοργάνωσης το Κρατικό Ωδείο Θεσσαλονίκης. Καθώς η ρωσική εισβολή στην Ουκρανία κατέστησε για τη φετινή χρονιά αδύνατη την τέλεσή του στην Οδησσό, η Υπουργός Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού Λίνα Μενδώνη ανταποκρίθηκε αμέσως στην πρόταση του καλλιτεχνικού διευθυντή του Φεστιβάλ Alexey Botvinov, να αναλάβει το ΥΠΠΟΑ τον βασικό κορμό των εκδηλώσεων του Φεστιβάλ, στη Θεσσαλονίκη.
Στην εναρκτήρια συναυλία του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Odessa Classics, η Κρατική Ορχήστρα Θεσσαλονίκης, υπό τη διεύθυνση της καλλιτεχνικής της διευθύντριας Ζωής Τσόκανου, συμπράττει με τον θρυλικό βαρύτονο Τhomas Hampson σε γκαλά όπερας, ενώ ο Alexey Botvinov, πιανίστας και καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής του Odessa Classics, παρουσιάζει το Κοντσέρτο αρ. 21 του Μότσαρτ. Ο Τhomas Hampson είναι από τους σπουδαιότερους εν ζωή καλλιτέχνες, βραβευμένος μεταξύ άλλων με βραβείο Grammy, 5 βραβεία Edison και το Grand Prix du Disque, ενώ η δισκογραφία του περιλαμβάνει περισσότερους από 150 τίτλους. O Alexey Botvinov κατέχει τον τίτλο του "Καλλιτέχνη του Λαού της Ουκρανίας", έχοντας μία διεθνή καριέρα με εμφανίσεις στις μεγαλύτερες αίθουσες συναυλιών του κόσμου.

The Odessa Classics Classical Music Festival, a leading cultural event in the field of classical music, will be hosted in Thessaloniki from 9 to 13 June 2022, organized by the Thessaloniki State Conservatory. As the Russian invasion of Ukraine made it impossible to hold the Festival in Odessa this year, the Minister of Culture and Sports, Lina Mendoni, immediately responded to the proposal of the Festival's Artistic Director Alexey Botvinov, that the Ministry of Culture and Sports should take over the main body of the Festival's events in Thessaloniki.
In the opening concert of the Odessa Classics International Festival, the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, under the baton of its artistic director Zoe Tsokanou, performs with the legendary baritone Thomas Hampson in an opera gala, while Alexey Botvinov, pianist and artistic director of Odessa Classics, presents Mozart's Concerto No. 21. Thomas Hampson is one of the greatest living artists, winner of Grammy Awards, 5 Edison Awards and the Grand Prix du Disque, among others, and his discography includes more than 150 titles. Alexey Botvinov holds the title of "Artist of the People of Ukraine", having an international career with performances in the world's largest concert halls.
