Orfeon Pamplones: Ein deutsches Requiem

One of the great symphonic choirs of today, and one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1865 in Pamplona, ​​it has premiered in Spain great works such as Mahler's Eighth Symphony (1970), as well as undertaking milestones such as being the first Spanish choir to perform at Carnegie Hall (2010), London BBC Proms (2015) or the Nights White from Saint Petersburg (2018).

In addition to his symphonic activity, he performs concerts in other formats, a cappella or with piano, organ or instrumental accompaniment. The result of a strong commitment to his land, he promotes the recovery, premiere and interpretation of works by Navarrese authors.

He has been awarded the Gold Medals of Pamplona and Navarra, the Tie of Alfonso X el Sabio, the Prince of Viana Award for Culture and the Silver and Gold Medals for Merit in Fine Arts.

He has performed in the last ten years with the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, most Spanish orchestras, and the French orchestras of Toulouse, Bordeaux, Lyon, and Monte Carlo.

The Orfeón Pamplonés returns to the Zaragoza Auditorium, where last December it performed Goyescas, by Granados, together with the Kingdom of Aragon Orchestra. Looking ahead to the 22-23 season, the choir will perform Carmina Burana, by Orff, at the Euskalduna Palace, together with the Bilbao Municipal Band, will share the stage with Mariachi Vargas in Kursaal and Baluarte and will perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony together Juanjo Mena, Honorary Director of the Orfeón, with the Navarra Symphony Orchestra. With the latter and its director, Perry So, he will interpret Das Paradies und die Peri by R. Schumann. He will also perform with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra interpreting Mozart's Requiem under the baton of the famous Japanese maestro Masaaki Suzuki, and will offer the Schöpfungsmesse, by FJ Haydn, with the prestigious 18th Century Orchestra, based in Amsterdam, within the Baluarte Foundation programming. He will close the season with the National Orchestra and Choir, the Community of Madrid Choir and the Orfeón Donostiarra, taking Mahler's Eighth Symphony to the National Auditorium in Madrid.

Uno de los grandes coros sinfónicos de la actualidad, y uno de los más prestigiosos. Fundado en 1865 en Pamplona, ha estrenado en España grandes obras como la Octava Sinfonía de Mahler (1970), además de acometer hitos como ser el primer coro español en actuar en Carnegie Hall (2010), London BBC Proms (2015) o las Noches Blancas de San Petersburgo (2018).

Además de su actividad sinfónica, realiza conciertos en otros formatos, a capella o con acompañamiento de piano, órgano o grupo instrumental. Fruto de un fuerte compromiso con su tierra, fomenta la recuperación, estreno e interpretación de obras de autores navarros.

Ha sido galardonado con las Medallas de Oro de Pamplona y Navarra, la Corbata de Alfonso X el Sabio, el Premio Príncipe de Viana a la Cultura y las Medallas de Plata y Oro al Mérito de las Bellas Artes.

Ha actuado en los últimos diez años con la Orquesta del Teatro Mariinsky, Orquesta Filarmónica de San Petersburgo, New York Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, la mayoría de las orquestas españolas y las orquestas francesas de Toulouse, Burdeos, Lyon y Montecarlo.

El Orfeón Pamplonés vuelve al Auditorio de Zaragoza, donde el pasado mes de diciembre interpretó Goyescas, de Granados, junto a la Orquesta Reino de Aragón. De cara a la temporada 22-23, el coro interpretará Carmina Burana, de Orff, en el Palacio Euskalduna, junto a la Banda Municipal de Bilbao, compartirá escenario con el Mariachi Vargas en Kursaal y en Baluarte e interpretará la Novena Sinfonía de Beethoven junto a Juanjo Mena, director de Honor del Orfeón, con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra. Con esta última y su titular, Perry So, interpretará Das Paradies und die Peri de R. Schumann. Actuará además con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao interpretando el Réquiem de Mozart bajo la batuta del afamado maestro japonés Masaaki Suzuki, y ofrecerá la Schöpfungsmesse, de F.J. Haydn, con la prestigiosa Orquesta del Siglo XVIII, con sede en Amsterdam, dentro de la programación de Fundación Baluarte. Cerrará temporada con la Orquesta y Coro Nacional, el Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid y el Orfeón Donostiarra, llevando la Octava Sinfonía de Mahler al Auditorio Nacional de Madrid.
