Peter and his grandfather live in the middle of the forest, surrounded by their animal friends. One day, when Peter leaves the garden gate open and steps into the clearing, his grandfather urgently warns him about a big wolf that is up to mischief in the forest. Peter fearlessly replies: He's not afraid! Meanwhile, some of his friends have also ventured through the gate – the duck is taking a dip in the pond, a small bird flutters up and the cat is wandering around on gentle paws. But when nobody is paying attention anymore, a big gray wolf sneaks up to the pond... The famous classic by Sergei Prokofiev is a fairy tale and instrument knowledge at the same time. He sets the story of the careless and courageous Peter, who defeats the wolf with the help of his friends, to music in a painterly manner. Each adventurer is assigned a unique instrumentation and melody that accompanies them throughout the piece and translates their movements, sounds and characters into music. In this way, text and music merge into a unit that brings Peter, the wolf, grandfather and all the animals in the concert hall to life.
