This Philharmonic Salon illuminates the relationship between Richard Wagner and Mathilde Wesendonck. The composer, wanted because of his revolutionary activities in Dresden, met the married woman in exile in Switzerland, where her husband supported the refugee financially. She became his beloved and muse, who not only inspired him for his opera Tristan und Isolde , but also provided the poems for the cycle of his Wesendonck songs . Guests of the salon are the speakers Brigitte Karner and Heikko Deutschmann as well as the mezzo-soprano Nadine Weissmann and the Philharmonic String Quintet.
