Het wordt lente! Op ons halfrond, tenminste – in het zuiden, zoals in Buenos Aires, komen nu juist de koudste maanden eraan. Piazzolla verklankte ze gloedvol in zijn Estaciones Porteñas, tegenhanger van Vivaldi’s Vier jaargetijden. Dit concert laat horen dat zijn tangoen milonga-ritmes prachtig passen bij de barokke pracht van zijn noordelijke collega’s. Lente of herfst, zomer of winter, noord of zuid: laten we dansen!

Spring is coming! In our hemisphere, at least - in the south, as in Buenos Aires, the coldest months are just approaching. Piazzolla expressed them glowingly in his Estaciones Porteñas, counterpart to Vivaldi's Four Seasons. This concert shows that his tango and milonga rhythms fit beautifully with the baroque splendor of his northern colleagues. Spring or fall, summer or winter, north or south: let's dance!
