Dream Machinery for Baroque Opera 
Did you say “baroque”? With its dragons, flying fish and other monsters that intersect against a backdrop of war, magic and love, Claire Dancoisne's vision of Handel's Rinaldo struck people's minds in 2018. This spectacular version of the chef- work of baroque opera – produced by the co[opera]tive – is back at the Ledoux Theater… Playing with the impertinence, the phantasmagoric and the humor of the staging, the performers compete in virtuosity on the furious airs of Argante and Armide or on the "hits" of lovers, Lascia ch'io pianga and Cara sposa . The masterful lyricism of the score is sublimated by the whole of the Celestial Banquet. An epic to (re)see.
