The charismatic soprano Tonje Haugland received her first singing lessons in her Norwegian homeland at the age of ten. After graduating with honors, she continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the singing class of Ms. KS Hilde Zadek. In addition, she attended numerous master classes with Walter Berry, Thomas Hampson, Marjana Lipovsek and Ingrid Bjoner. She has won numerous competitions and grants in Scandinavia. Theater engagements with roles, such as Mozart's Countess and Donna Anna, Verdi's Alice Ford, Weber's Agathe, Puccinis Tosca and the great operetta divas, took the versatile singer to Prague, Seoul and Vienna as well as to numerous German theaters.
