As a child, music was always associated with movement for me. The spinning turntable, my mother dancing right and left waltzes, flying bows and whirling mallets, marching brass bands, tears flowing with laughter and tears... Even today I find music moving. It moves my senses, my body, my fingers, makes the strings and air vibrate. It evokes images and states of mind and immediately follows the desire to share them with others. Movement implies touch. The needle on the record groove, sensing the body tension of your dance partner, the horse hair of the bow leaning against the gut string in dissonance, a funny remark that makes the other person laugh or sounds that give you goosebumps.
