At the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Philippe Jaroussky and Céline Scheen receive a standing ovation

Inverted mirror of the dark apocalypse unleashed by René Jacobs at the opening of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the program offered on Sunday July 17 by Christina Pluhar and her Arpeggiata, entitled "Himmelsmusik" ("celestial music"), opens with the tenderness of a humanity in intimate dialogue with the sky. The Austrian “maestra” and theorbist (dubbed by the magazine Der Spiegel “the domina of early music”) and the countertenor Philippe Jaroussky are familiar with the place, and old traveling companions. They have been performing and recording for more than twenty years (at Erato), from Teatro d'Amore from Monteverdi (2009) to Music for a While (2014), via Via Crucis (2010), Los Pajaros Perdidos (2012) and Orfeo's Lyra by Luigi Rossi (2019).
