Johannes Grau, started his first musical experience and training at St. Thomas Boys Choir in Leipzig. Already as a boy soprano he collected solo experiences under Kurt Masur and Thomaskantor Prof. Biller.
He studied singing at the Academy of Music 'Hanns Eisler' - Berlin with Prof. Scot Weir and was a member of the Song class with Prof. Semyon Skigin. Further studies were carried out at the 'Conservatorio di Firenze', parallel to his studies in Berlin he also attended the 'Conservatoire de Paris' under the direction of Prof. Yves Sotin.

Johannes Grau made his debut in Mozart's The Magic Flute under the baton of GMD Stefan Klingele (Leipzig), he participated as a soloist in the world premiere ‘Vom Ende der Unschuld’ at “Kampnagel” - Hamburg, directed by Kirsten Harms (Deutsche Oper Berlin).

Johannes Grau participated in master classes with Peter Schreier and Dietrich Fischer-Diskau and is a fellow of the ''Richard Wagner - Association'' Bayreuth. He won 1st price in the International “Rheinsberg” - Opera Competition. Furthermore Johannes Grau participated in workshops with Piero Bellugi on “Don Giovanni” and “Le nozze di figaro”. His current vocal coach is Paolo Barbacini.

The Baritone, Johannes Grau also gained experience in the ensemble of the Wuppertal stages - with roles in Tosca, Salome, Parsifal, the Tales of Hoffmann and as an aria soloist in a scenic production of Bach's Johannes Passion under the direction of Jörg Halubek (conductor), Philipp Harnoncourt (director). In new productions of Alban Berg's opera LULU, Johannes Grau sang under the baton of GMD Toshiyuki Kamioka (Wuppertal) and GMD Timo Handschuh (Ulm). Furthermore, he sang the opera Königskinder under the baton of GMD Sebastian Weigle (Frankfurt).

In 2021 he finished his studies and is holding the certificate of “Bachelor of music”.

Johannes Grau, startete seine musikalische Ausbildung im Thomanerchor Leipzig. Bereits als Knabensopran sammelte er solistische Erfahrungen unter der Leitung von Kurt Masur und Thomaskantor Prof. Biller.  

Er studierte Gesang an der Hochschule für Musik 'Hanns Eisler' - Berlin bei Prof. Scot Weir und war Mitglied der Liedklasse von Prof. Semyon Skigin. Weitere Studien führten Ihn an das 'Conservatorio di Firenze', sowie parallel zu seinem Studium in Berlin an das 'Conservatoire de Paris' zu Prof. Yves Sotin. Bereits während des Studiums sang er in Mozarts Die Zauberflöte unter der Leitung von GMD Stefan Klingele (Weimar), weiters übernahm er eine Partie der Uraufführung ‘Vom Ende Der Unschuld’ am “Kampnagel” in Hamburg unter der Regie von Kirsten Harms (Deutsche Oper Berlin).

Johannes Grau nahm an Meisterkursen bei Peter Schreier und Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau teil und ist Stipendiat des Richard Wagner - Verband, Bayreuth, sowie 1. Preisträger des Rheinsberger Opernwettbewerb. Außerdem arbeitet  Johannes Grau in Workshops mit Piero Bellugi an „Don Giovanni“ und „Le nozze di figaro“. Derzeitiger wird er von Paolo Barbacini (Reggio Emilia) als Gesangslehrer betreut.

Erfahrungen sammelte Johannes Grau auch im Ensemble der Wuppertaler Bühnen – mit Rollen in Don Giovanni, il Barbiere di Siviglia, Tosca, Salome, Parsifal, Hoffmanns Erzählungen sowie als Arien-Solist in einer szenischen Produktion von Bachs Johannes-Passion unter der Leitung von Jörg Halubek (Dirigat), Philipp Harnoncourt (Regie). In den Neuproduktionen Alban Bergs Oper LULU, sang Johannes Grau, unter der Leitung von GMD Toshiyuki Kamioka (Wuppertal) und GMD Timo Handschuh (Ulm). Weiters sang er die Oper Königskinder, unter der Leitung von GMD Sebastian Weigle (Frankfurt).

2021 schloss er sein Studium als „Bachelor of Music“ ab.

Johannes Grau, ha iniziato la sua prima esperienza musicale e formazione presso il Coro dei Ragazzi di San Tommaso a Lipsia. Già da ragazzo soprano ha collezionato esperienze solistiche sotto Kurt Masur e il Thomaskantor Prof. Biller.
 
Ha studiato canto all’Accademia di musica “Hanns Eisler” a Berlino insieme al Prof. Scot Weir ed era un membro della classe di canto con il Prof. Semyon Skigin. Egli ha frequentato ulteriori studi presso il “Conservatorio di Firenze”' e parallelamente ai suoi studi a Berlino ha frequentato anche il “Conservatorio di Parigi” sotto la direzione del Prof. Yves Sotin.
 
Johannes Grau ha fatto il suo debutto in Il flauto magico di Mozart sotto la direzione di GMD Stefan Klingele (Lipsia), ha partecipato come solista alla prima mondiale "Vom Ende der Unschuld" a “Kampnagel” - Amburgo, regia di Kirsten Harms (Deutsche Oper di Berlino).
 
Johannes Grau ha partecipato a corsi di perfezionamento insieme a Peter Schreier e Dietrich Fischer-Diskau ed è un membro della “Associazione Richard Wagner” di Bayreuth. Inoltre, ha vinto il 1° premio nel Concorso Lirico Internazionale “Rheinsberg”. Johannes Grau ha partecipato, fra l’altro, ai workshop con Piero Bellugi sul “Don Giovanni” e “Le Nozze di Figaro”. Il suo attuale vocal coach è Paolo Barbacini.
 
Il baritono Johannes Grau ha anche maturato esperienza nell'ensemble dei Palchi di Wuppertal - con ruoli in Tosca, Salomè, Parsifal, i Racconti di Hoffmann e come solista d'aria in una produzione scenica di La Passione di Johannes Bach sotto la direzione di Jörg Halubek (conduttore), Philipp Harnoncourt (direttore). Nelle nuove produzioni di musica lirica LULU di Alban Berg, Johannes Grau ha cantato sotto la direzione di GMD Toshiyuki Kamioka (Wuppertal) e GMD Timo Handschuh (Ulm). Inoltre, ha cantato l'opera Königskinder sotto la direzione di GMD Sebastian Weigle (Francoforte).
 
Nel 2021 ha terminato gli studi ed e ha conseguito l'attestato di “Laurea in musica”.
