The Oviedo Filarmonía orchestra (OFIL) offered a good concert yesterday under the direction of Lucía Marín, from Jaén, at the Philharmonic Theatre. The thirteenth concert organized this year by the Oviedo Philharmonic Society brought two great works to the theatre. In the first part, the orchestra performed Schubert's 5th Symphony, a classical work, and for the second part it chose Dvorak's 8th Symphony, a completely romantic composition. The playing was very compact and very tight throughout, with a very powerful sound. And the conductor was very good, conducting the entire concert from memory, something striking in symphonies, because it is not usual.
