Mateo Paul

Originally hailing from Cape Canaveral, Space Coast Region, Florida, American tenor MATEO PAUL with a Mother from the Philippines and Father from New Jersey is embarking on an exciting operatic career. His musical studies began in high school with the tuba, and then continuing as a Tuba Performance major at McLennan Community College with a full scholarship. There he took his first voice lessons and after his freshman year decided to study Vocal Performance. He participated in masterclasses with Richard Miller and Thomas Hampson, and won first prize in the Texas Music Teachers Association Regional Competition. Mateo then transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a full scholarship. During his time at UNLV, he sang Gherardo in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and was a UNLV Singer
