The New York Scandia Symphony was envisioned as a dynamic showcase of Scandinavian music for US audiences, presenting on-mainstream classical pieces that deserve to be shared with the rest of the world. The New York Scandia Symphony – which is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization – has established itself as one of the active proponents of New York City’s cultural enrichment. The group collaborates with arts organizations, government agencies, and community representatives to promote the appreciation of orchestral music.

Various studies have noted that listening to orchestral music has a positive effect on people’s health and mental processes. It has been shown to lessen stress and spark creativity. Performances by the New York Scandia Symphony also celebrate the diverse influences that have added another exciting dimension to the sophisticated city’s musical scene and international artistic landscape.
