The excellent quartet of Knights (all four doubling as the Tempters in Act I) was led by the very promising young tenor Reuben Lillie, who grace his music with an intrinsically attractive timbre and a bright ping above the staff.

Among the standouts was Reuben Lillie as one of the Tempter’s as well as one of the Knights who murders Becket. His tenor sound was both ingratiating and menacing.
