【2024 Weiwuying International Music Festival】Ensemble TIMF - Music of Love and Longing
Opera excerpts, art songs, program music, and absolute music are four distinct genres that, in essence, do not intersect. When curating a concert repertoire, one can opt to emphasize a single genre or incorporate a combination of two. While it’s fairly common for a repertoire to encompass three of these categories, including all four genres is a rarity. Ensemble TIMF Music of Love and Longing showcases a remarkable blend of these four music categories: SCHREKER Chamber Symphony is absolute music, The Poet's Love is a German art song, Trittico Botticelliano is program music, and the three opera arias originate from two Italian operas and one French opera. Such a diverse and abundant selection of compositions adeptly demonstrates the wide-ranging and exceptional talents of these young South Korean musicians! It's worth noting that these pieces, spanning nearly a century in composition, share a common thread of romanticism. Each art song and aria exudes a profound sense of romance. RESPIGHI skillfully breathes life into Botticelli's renowned paintings through vivid and beautiful music, while Franz SCHREKER unmistakably demonstrates his "timbre magician" craftsmanship and weaves a poignant musical tapestry full of images!

【2024衛武營國際音樂節】統營國際音樂節室內樂團《歌詠音畫》
聲樂世界裡，「歌劇」和「藝術歌曲」可稱是位在天平兩端：前者宏偉而戲劇化，後者精巧且細膩。相對地，討論器樂作品時除了規模大小以外，「標題音樂」和「絕對音樂」的區分，亦是經常被提起的重點：前者用音樂來說故事，後者則純粹為音樂而音樂。歌劇選粹、藝術歌曲、標題音樂和絕對音樂作品，是四種原則上互不相屬的音樂類型。安排音樂會曲目時，可以主打一種類型，或包含其中兩類；曲目即便分屬於其中三類，也還不算稀奇；但若是四種類型統統都有，那就真的有點特別了。 《歌詠音畫》就是這麼一場包含上述四類曲目的音樂會：室內交響曲屬於絕對音樂、《詩人之戀》是德語藝術歌曲、《波堤切利三聯畫》是標題音樂、三首詠嘆調則分別出自兩部義語歌劇和一部法語歌劇。如此豐富多樣的選曲，很能為我們展示這群來自韓國的青年音樂家有多麼廣博而優異的才能！當然，這些曲目彼此之間倒也不是毫無關聯：儘管創作年代跨越近一個世紀，這整套曲目卻沒有哪一首是不浪漫的！歌曲和詠唱調不用多說，每一首都浪漫得要命；雷史畢基也以生動優美的音樂，讓波堤切利的名畫變得活靈活現；施雷克爾更在其作品中充分展現他「音色魔術師」的功力，譜出一首充滿畫面的動人樂曲！
