"Let there be light" - under the direction of Kent Nagano, the work will be heard again in the Elbphilharmonie, which was premiered in 2017 as part of the opening festival of the Hamburg Konzerthaus: Jörg Widmann's oratorio ARCHE, overwhelming and monumental in its cast, is based on various text sources by Heine, Schiller and Klabund and was already a sensation at its premiere in the Great Hall. We are celebrating five years of the Elbphilharmonie with this work of cosmic, religious and cultural-historical character.
