What is opera? What sets it apart from musical theater or ballet? What does an orchestra consist of, and where can one buy one?

Wise minds have pondered these intricate questions, but unfortunately, they are not part of this performance. Instead, stepping onto the stage are The Fabulous Bäckström Brothers with their friends, aiming to shed light on these pressing questions of our time.

A Fabulous Night at the Opera is a unique performance filled with virtuosic numbers, enchanting music, and crazy humor. The collaboration of opera singing brothers Jouni and Petri Bäckström, flutist-circus artist Jacintha Damström, pianist Marko Hilpo, and America's Got Talent finalist, ventriloquist Celia Muñoz, takes us back to the roots of opera to explore the concepts, history, and trivia associated with it – knowledge we wish we had but can't be bothered to study.

The performance is part of the Helsinki Contemporary Opera Festival program.
