La claveciniste Maude Gratton, cheffe et directrice artistique d’il Convito, est une artiste habituée des grands ensembles baroques (Collegium Vocale de Gand, Le Banquet Céleste, Ricercar Consort…). Cette musicienne sensible a fait de la musique de Jean-Sébastien Bach (1685-1750) la pierre angulaire de son ensemble. Au coeur de ce nouveau programme figurent deux chefs-d’œuvre du cantor de Leipzig : le cinquième Concerto Brandebourgeois et la première Suite pour orchestre. Trait d’union entre ces deux monuments, l’ensemble présente une orchestration de quelques-uns des plus beaux chorals pour grand orgue du compositeur allemand.

Harpsichordist Maude Gratton, conductor and artistic director of il Convito, is an artist accustomed to major baroque ensembles (Collegium Vocale de Ghent, Le Banquet Céleste, Ricercar Consort…). This sensitive musician made the music of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) the cornerstone of her ensemble. At the heart of this new program are two masterpieces by the cantor of Leipzig: the fifth Brandenburg Concerto and the first Suite for orchestra . A link between these two monuments, the ensemble presents an orchestration of some of the most beautiful chorales for the great organ by the German composer.
