The writer Georges Bernard SHAW summed up the opera as follows: a story where a tenor and a soprano want to sleep together, and where a baritone prevents them. This baritone that we place between two desires as well as between two tessitura (tenor and bass) belongs to this category of artist who knows how to play bass and treble, well settled “on” his medium.
Christophe Lacassagne, a worthy representative of the Baritone species, who is moreover an actor, is a singular artist in the world of opera from which he sometimes escapes in order to better return to it. For this carte blanche that he shares with the pianist Marc-Olivier Poingt, he will invite Mozart, Gardel or Fernandel, Maurice Yvain, Kosma or Verdi in a number of vocal and stylistic balance which will inevitably lead him to put on a show!
