Twenty woodwinds, eight horns, five trumpets, three trombones, two bass tubas, five timpani and large percussion section alone would be enough to fill an entire soccer stadium with sound! In Stravinsky's "Sacre du printemps", the strings are added to the mix. But not to make noise, but to play one of the most famous ballet scores of the 20th century. At the premiere in 1913, the audience was outraged and left the hall with boos. A scandal at the time, the piece is now an integral part of the concert hall.

Zwanzig Holzbläser, acht Hörner, fünf Trompeten, drei Posaunen, zwei Basstuben, fünf Pauken und großes Schlagwerk, schon allein das würde reichen, um ein ganzes Fußballstadion zu beschallen! Bei Strawinskis "Sacre du printemps" kommen noch die Streicher dazu. Aber nicht, um Lärm zu machen, sondern um eine der berühmtesten Ballettmusiken des 20. Jahrhunderts zu spielen. Bei der Uraufführung 1913 war das Publikum empört und verließ mit Buhrufen den Saal. Damals ein Skandal, ist das Stück heute aus dem Konzertsaal nicht mehr wegzudenken.
