‘One of the most beautiful voices Britain has produced in a generation’ (International Record Review), soprano Elizabeth Watts joins Britten Sinfonia in two orchestral song cycles.

Finzi beautifully evokes the joyful innocence of early childhood, while Richard Blackford sets intimate and passionate poems by Afghan poet Nadia Anjuman.

Britten Sinfonia performs Elgar's early and ever-popular piece, Serenade for Strings, alongside an equally attractive work for strings by Dobrinka Tabakova, and we are treated to the premiere of a new work by the ‘anarchic and cartoonishly fun’ (BBC Radio 3) composer, Ryan Latimer.
