Carmen is, I'm sure, one of the world's most popular opera productions. Nowadays, this opera is included in the repertoire of all opera troupes and is performed in all languages. Her popularity is not limited to the opera stage. It has expanded the repertoire of theatrical drama music, exists in piano transcriptions, and also in cinematic versions (the latest and most successful Carmen Jones is based on an operetta version that was a hit on Broadway). It is not difficult to see the reason for such popularity. There are many great melodies in the opera! She is incredibly dramatic. She is so bright and clear! In addition, all these characteristic features of it are already revealed in the overture. It starts out bright and clean, like a sunny day in Spain. In 2015, in the history of KGATOB them. Abai, a new chapter appeared, a modern version of the opera "Carmen". For the first time at the State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet (GATOB) named after Abay, written in the 19th century, the famous opera “Carmen” by the French composer Georges Bizet was staged in the Art Nouveau style. The music, the text are the same, but the action has been moved to our time, although it still takes place in Spain. According to the modern solution, the heroes of the opera are dressed and shod like our contemporaries. They use laptops, cars, motorcycles, photo and video cameras.
