Премьера оперы «Кармен» Жоржа Бизе, состоявшаяся в Париже в театре «Опера-Комик» 3 марта 1875 года, оказалась провальной. Образы простых работниц табачной фабрики, солдат, полицейских, воров и контрабандистов не отвечали изысканному вкусу и оскорбляли нравственность публики. Однако спектакль получил широкий резонанс в прессе. И уже в год постановки была показана на сцене «Опера-Комик» тридцать семь раз. Сам Жорж Бизе не дожил до этого момента – он скоропостижно скончался в возрасте 36 лет, через три месяца после премьеры своего гениального произведения. Сегодня «Кармен» считается самой популярной оперой в мире. Эту великую судьбу предрекал ей Пётр Ильич Чайковский: «Опера Бизе – шедевр, одна из тех немногих вещей, которым суждено отразить в себе в сильнейшей степени музыкальные стремления целой эпохи. Лет через десять «Кармен» будет самой популярной оперой в мире…»

О спектакле:
Премьера в «Царицынской опере» состоялась 30 января 2019 года. Спектакль идет на французском языке с синхронными русскими субтитрами в оригинальной постановке режиссера из Австрии Грига Скоморовски. Режиссер сознательно уходит от банальных стереотипов, зачастую сопровождающих многочисленные постановки «Кармен», стараясь избежать заезженных оперных клише. Его история имеет общечеловеческий смысл, она вне времени и пространства. Центр всем известного сюжета о свободе и страсти – Хозе (в французском варианте – José), человек, прошедший сложный путь от добропорядочности, верности и любви к одержимости, предательству и чудовищному преступлению.

Основной задаче подчинены и коллекция костюмов, созданная художником театра Еленой Павловской, стиль которой относит воображение зрителя скорее к подиуму, чем к испано-цыганской теме. Не менее оригинальны лаконичные, трансформирующие пространство декорации Георгия Матевосяна. Дирижер-постановщик спектакля, главный дирижер театра, лауреат всероссийскогоконкурса Сергей Гринев, в качестве балетмейстера-постановщика выступила Светлана Яковлева, ведущая солистка балетной труппы и талантливый режиссер. Автором оригинального видеоконтента стала художник из Москвы ИннаОстровская. Над световым решением работал главный художник по свету театра Андрей Павлов.

The premiere of the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet, held in Paris at the Opéra-Comique on March 3, 1875, was a failure. The images of simple tobacco factory workers, soldiers, policemen, thieves and smugglers did not meet the refined taste and offended the morality of the public. However, the performance received a wide response in the press. And already in the year of production, it was shown on the stage of the Opera-Comic thirty-seven times. Georges Bizet himself did not live to see this moment - he died suddenly at the age of 36, three months after the premiere of his brilliant work. Today, Carmen is considered the most popular opera in the world. This great fate was predicted by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: “Bizet’s opera is a masterpiece, one of those few things that are destined to reflect the musical aspirations of an entire era to the strongest degree.

About the performance:
The premiere at the Tsaritsynskaya Opera took place on January 30, 2019. The performance is in French with simultaneous Russian subtitles in the original production by the Austrian director Grieg Skomorowski. The director consciously avoids the banal stereotypes that often accompany numerous productions of Carmen, trying to avoid hackneyed opera clichés. His story has a universal meaning, it is beyond time and space. The center of the well-known story about freedom and passion is Jose (in the French version - José), a man who has gone through a difficult path from integrity, loyalty and love to obsession, betrayal and a monstrous crime.

The collection of costumes, created by the theater designer Elena Pavlovskaya, is also subordinated to the main task, the style of which refers the viewer's imagination more to the podium than to the Spanish-Gypsy theme. No less original are Georgy Matevosyan's laconic, space-transforming scenery. The stage director of the performance, chief conductor of the theater, laureate of the All-Russian competition Sergey Grinev, Svetlana Yakovleva, the leading soloist of the ballet troupe and a talented director, acted as choreographer. The author of the original video content is an artist from Moscow, InnaOstrovskaya. The chief lighting designer of the theater Andrey Pavlov worked on the lighting solution.
