CHOPIN - rozmowa z reżyser świateł Katarzyną Łuszczyk i kostiumografem Zuzanną Markiewicz

Two finalists of the 18th International Piano Competition Fryderyk Chopin - runner-up Alexander Gadjiev and finalist Hyuk Lee.
 
The event will open with a piano recital, during which Hyuk Lee will perform the Nocturne in E flat major, Op. 9 No. 2, Nocturne in B major, Op. 62 No. 1, Etude in A flat major, Op. 25 No. 1 and the Polonaise-Fantasy in A flat major, Op. 61 with the use of Wojciech Siudmak's paintings in the visualizations of Emilia Sadowska.
After his performance, Alexander Gadjiev will play the Sonata in B flat minor, for which the musician won the Krystian Zimerman Prize. That same evening, the pianist will play the role of Fryderyk Chopin in the opera "Chopin", performing the Etude in C minor, Op. 10 No. 12 (Revolutionary) and Prelude in E minor, Op. 28 no.4. 

Opera with Chopin ... Not only in the title

It is a beautiful story based on the life and unique music of Fryderyk Chopin, diversified by vocal and acting performances. This opera was born out of great sympathy and appreciation for the music of Fryderyk Chopin; its creator - Italian  Giacomo Orefice  based his score entirely on the music of the Polish composer, his character also inspired the libretto, and the name itself became the title of the opera.
Chopin  - as some music historians claim - is an opera which is a  wildly inaccurate account  of the composer's life. All characters, except for Chopin, are completely fictional, and the course of the operatic events itself only suggests some threads from the life of the great Pole. How much truth is there and how many fantasies of the librettist?
The whole, however, creates great opportunities for singing and acting for all performers. And that's what opera is all about. Fryderyk Chopin did not compose a single opera and apparently he did not even  dream of creating music for the theater. This time - the figure of Chopin on stage and his music in a very different form. Will we be surprised? Certainly - but of course positive.
