Mozart's music may seem simple and graceful, but has great depths that have been increasingly recognized and appreciated. Together with his librettist Lorenzo da Ponte, he had his own flair for finding the right stories that could be turned into opera. Through his orchestration and arias, he explored emotional depths while also being a master when it comes to audience-friendly ensembles and finals, which not least characterizes Cosi fan tutte!

Here is Mozart at his most playful, seductive and revealing!

Great demands are thus made when an opera by Mozart is to be produced, not least for the singers who have a demanding task in the ensembles as well as the arias. Together with a well-tuned orchestra, an imaginative director and a conductor with a musical surplus, they will once again realize one of Mozart's best operas.

Opera Bergen has therefore gathered a bunch of top-class soloists for this moody summer performance in new and beautiful surroundings - outside and inside.

Mozarts musikk kan synes enkel og grasiøs, men har store dybder som i stadig større grad er blitt anerkjent og verdsatt. Sammen med sin librettist Lorenzo da Ponte hadde han en egen teft for å finne de riktige historiene som kunne gjøres til opera. Gjennom sin orkestrering og arier utforsket han følelsesmessige dybder samtidig som han var en mester når det gjaldt publikumsvennlige ensembler og finaler, noe som ikke minst preger Cosi fan tutte!

Her er Mozart på sitt mest lekne, forførende og avslørende!

Det stilles altså store krav når en opera av Mozart skal produseres, ikke minst til sangerne som har en krevende oppgave i ensemblene så vel som ariene. Sammen med et veltrimmet orkester, en idèrik regissør og en dirigent med musikalsk overskudd skal de på ny virkeliggjøre en av Mozarts beste operaer.

Opera Bergen har derfor samlet et knippe solister i toppklasse til denne humørfylte sommerforestillingen i nye og vakre omgivelser – ute og inne.
