Barrie Kosky's production of Così fan tutte takes the audience to the theater within the theater: There, Don Alfonso stages a love experiment with his four young actors. The four are talented: by the second act at the latest, it is no longer possible to distinguish what is real and what is acted, what is staged and what escalates.

Barrie Kosky: "I asked myself: What would be a setting in which you could play with what is real emotion and what is acted emotion; what it means to take on a role, a costume or an attitude towards love? In what kind of space can you start and stop the emotion on command, enter it, exit it and even comment on it? What kind of world would that be? At some point it became clear to me: It is the rehearsal room."
