Mladý vídeňský kníže Edwin se zamiluje do hvězdy budapešťského kabaretu Orfeum Sylvy Varescu. Ta ale právě odjíždí na turné do Spojených států a Edwin sám je povolán zpět ke svému pluku. Aby Edwin Sylvě v odjezdu zabránil, udělá okamžité rozhodnutí: nabídne Sylvě manželství a své rozhodnutí stvrdí ještě tentýž večer před notářem přímo v Orfeu. Současně ale přichází od jeho rodičů formální oznámení Edwinových zásnub se sestřenicí Anastázií. Sylva se o zasnoubení dozví a rozhodne se, že Edwina vytrestá...

The young Viennese prince Edwin falls in love with Sylva Varescu, the star of the Budapest Orfeum cabaret. But she is currently leaving for a tour in the United States, and Edwin himself is called back to his regiment. In order to prevent Sylva from leaving, Edwin makes an immediate decision: he offers Sylva marriage and confirms his decision the same evening in front of a notary directly in Orfeo. At the same time, a formal announcement of Edwin's engagement to his cousin Anastasia arrives from his parents. Sylva finds out about the engagement and decides to punish Edwina...

The popular Čardáš princess, famous for her musical temperament, sweet waltzes and fiery Čardáš melodies, will certainly not disappoint any fan of classic operetta.
