The Stabat Mater is a strong title.
As with the Requiem, the composers strive to give their all
of their palette of colors and emotions. This is the case of Pergolesi, of
Vivaldi. This is the case of Dvorak who
sign with this work of youth,
his first sacred composition, still very close to his native Bohemia. His Stabat Mater consecrates him in
Europe for the rest of his life,
long before the birth of his New World Symphony!
From darkness to light, the Stabat
Mater reconquers step by step a
form of serenity, in the sweetness
voices and choirs on a carpet
orchestral both modest and
dazzling.
The distribution is very high-flying
with, among others, Angela Denoke,
one of today's finest operatic sopranos – just think
to his Salomé, the title role of Katia Kabanova at the Paris Opera, L’Affaire
Makropoulos in Salzburg, the mezzo
Varduhi Abrahamyan that we will have
been able to applaud this season in L’Italienne à Algiers and Le Couronnement de
Poppée, still at the Paris Opera,
and Steve Davislim, acclaimed this summer at
Orange alongside the Orchestra
Philharmonic conducted by Mikko
Frank.
The choir of the Philharmonie de
Prague was invited for the occasion
and accompanies the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France with, at its
head, a Czech chef Jakub Hruša,
director of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and who knows
Dvorak better than anyone!

Le Stabat Mater est un titre fort.
Comme pour le Requiem, les compositeurs s’emploient à tout donner
de leur palette de couleurs et d’émotions. C’est le cas de Pergolèse, de
Vivaldi. C’est le cas de Dvorák qui
signe avec cette œuvre de jeunesse,
sa première composition sacrée, encore très proche de sa Bohème natale. Son Stabat Mater le consacre en
Europe pour le restant de ses jours,
bien avant la naissance de sa Symphonie du Nouveau Monde !
Des ténèbres à la lumière, le Stabat
Mater reconquiert pas à pas une
forme de sérénité, dans la douceur
des voix et des chœurs sur un tapis
orchestral à la fois pudique et
éblouissant.
La distribution est de très haut vol
avec, entre autres, Angela Denoke,
l’une des plus belles sopranos lyriques actuelles – pensons seulement
à sa Salomé, le rôle-titre de Katia Kabanova à l’Opéra de Paris, L’Affaire
Makropoulos à Salzbourg, la mezzo
Varduhi Abrahamyan que l’on aura
pu applaudir cette saison dans L’Italienne à Algeret Le Couronnement de
Poppée, toujours à l’Opéra de Paris,
et Steve Davislim, acclamé cet été à
Orange aux côtés de l’Orchestre
Philharmonique dirigé par Mikko
Franck.
Le chœur de la Philharmonie de
Prague a été convié pour l’occasion
et accompagne l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France avec, à sa
tête, un chef tchèque Jakub Hruša,
directeur de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Prague et qui connaît
Dvorák mieux que personne !
