Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem is a magnificent landmark work in the history of symphonic music both for its masterful artistic qualities and for the legend that accompanies it as the great composer's unfinished swan song. And this is what the State Orchestra of Athens will finally perform in the Easter Concert that it will give under the baton of its former Director Vassilis Christopoulos. The Orchestra will be joined by four elite soloists, soprano Myrto Papathanasiou, mezzo-soprano Theodora Baca, Spanish tenor Juan Sancho and Italian baritone Vito Priante, as well as the famous "Arnold Schoenberg" Choir of Vienna.

The concert program also includes another work, the Symphony no. 25 in G minor, known as the "Little Symphony", which Mozart composed when he was 17 years old. The two works are replaced in the program of the Easter Concert of K.O.A. Beethoven's Missa Solemnis which was originally announced: Both the cost of the overall production and the fact that it involved the participation of the NERIT Choir (which has not yet been established) forced the Orchestra to change plans.

Το Ρέκβιεμ του Βόλφγκανγκ Αμαντέους Μότσαρτ είναι ένα μεγαλειώδες έργο ορόσημο στην ιστορία της συμφωνικής μουσικής τόσο για τις αριστουργηματικές καλλιτεχνικές του αρετές όσο και για τον μύθο που το συνοδεύει ως το ημιτελές κύκνειο άσμα του μεγάλου δημιουργού. Κι είναι αυτό το οποίο θα ερμηνεύσει τελικώς η Κρατική Ορχήστρα Αθηνών στην Πασχαλινή Συναυλία που θα δώσει υπό την μπαγκέτα του τέως Διευθυντή της Βασίλη Χριστόπουλου. Με την Ορχήστρα θα συμπράξουν τέσσερις εκλεκτοί σολίστ, η σοπράνο Μυρτώ Παπαθανασίου, η μέτζο-σοπράνο Θεοδώρα Μπάκα, ο Ισπανός τενόρος Χουάν Σάντσο και ο Ιταλός βαρύτονος Βίτο Πριάντε, καθώς και η περίφημη Χορωδία «Άρνολντ Σένμπεργκ» της Βιέννης.

Το πρόγραμμα της συναυλίας περιλαμβάνει όμως κι ένα ακόμα έργο, την Συμφωνία αρ.25 σε σολ ελάσσονα, γνωστή ως «Μικρή Συμφωνία», την οποία συνέθεσε ο Μότσαρτ όταν ήταν 17 ετών. Τα δύο έργα αντικαθιστούν στο πρόγραμμα της Πασχαλινής Συναυλίας της Κ.Ο.Α. την Missa Solemnis του Μπετόβεν η οποία είχε αρχικώς ανακοινωθεί: Τόσο το κόστος της συνολικής παραγωγής, όσο και το γεγονός ότι αυτή προέβλεπε τη συμμετοχή της Χορωδίας της ΝΕΡΙΤ (η οποία δεν έχει ακόμα συσταθεί) ανάγκασαν την Ορχήστρα να αλλάξει σχέδια.
