Participating in this recovery of comic opera are a veteran musical director of this stage, Miguel Ángel Gómez-Martínez, who considers Gaztambide "interesting, amusing and possessing extraordinary musical quality", and a stage director, Marco Carniti —who works for the first time on this stage—, which wants us to enjoy the beauty of a play that happily passes between dream and reality. The libretto has been completely revised and the action moves to the city of Rome in the 1950s. The plot introduces us to an aristocratic Italian lady who decides to subsidize the filming of the first zarzuela for the big screen in order to bring this genre to the whole world through cinema.
