A reminder of male arrogance

For Sir John Falstaff, life is great fun: he may have an alcohol and money problem, but with the help of his servants he has already ripped off quite a few people. After seeing the obdurate Dr. Except for Cajus, assuming that he is completely irresistible, he wants to wrap two advantageously married women with Alice and Meg around his little finger in order to gain access to their husbands' wealth. But he does the math without the cheerful community of women in the town of Windsor, who decide to teach the conceited knight a lesson for his arrogance.

Giuseppe Verdi concluded his work on the stage in 1893 with the most elaborate tirades of ranting in opera history. After more than 50 years of being unable to move a subject to compose a cheerful opera, Arrigo Boito's astute libretto convinced him to turn to this genre again: Falstaff is upgraded from an obese drunkard to a relaxed bon vivant and in the famous final fugue with his life motto " Everything on earth is fun, man is born a fool “even the last word.
