Family è il nuovo modern musical d’autore ideato, scritto e diretto da Gipo Gurrado che aggiunge un tassello al suo personale attraversamento in parole e musica delle nevrosi e disfunzionalità del mondo di oggi.
Dopo Supermarket, bestiario contemporaneo, cantato e ballato da nove giovani interpreti, questa volta al centro del racconto c’è una famiglia, una “family” come tante altre. Il plot scarno ed essenziale vira su un gruppo di persone che vive cambia e invecchia sul filo di un legame unico e inesorabile.
Family racconta problemi, fraintendimenti e aspettative di una famiglia che assomiglia a quella di tutti noi e, attraverso testi caustici e insoliti, ne disegna un ritratto inaspettato.
I suoi membri crescono, invecchiano, cambiano e regolarmente si ritrovano a tavola per cenare assieme e festeggiare compleanni, o sul divano per confrontarsi e affrontare emergenze. Ma questa volta l’angolazione da cui si osserva è inedita, accogliente, morbida.
Un punto di vista che dovrebbe essere usato da tutti se si volesse avere, almeno per una volta, uno sguardo libero sulla propria famiglia e osservarla da una prospettiva candida e disincantata.
Il risultato potrebbe essere poeticamente esilarante.
Perché ogni famiglia ha i suoi problemi alimentati da preoccupazioni e fraintendimenti che si tra-scinano da anni.
Ma cambiare occhi potrebbe essere il tentativo struggente per arrivare a vedere una famiglia sere-na.Una famiglia finalmente feli…No. Errore.Non esistono famiglie felici.

Family is the new modern auteur musical conceived, written and directed by Gipo Gurrado which adds a piece to his personal exploration in words and music of the neuroses and dysfunctionality of today's world.
After Supermarket, a contemporary bestiary, sung and danced by nine young performers, this time at the center of the story there is a family, a "family" like many others. The sparse and essential plot focuses on a group of people who live, change and age on the edge of a unique and inexorable bond.
Family talks about problems, misunderstandings and expectations of a family that resembles that of all of us and, through caustic and unusual texts, draws an unexpected portrait.
Its members grow, age, change and regularly meet at the table to have dinner together and celebrate birthdays, or on the sofa to discuss and deal with emergencies. But this time the angle from which it is observed is new, welcoming, soft.
A point of view that should be used by everyone if you want to have, at least for once, a free look at your family and observe it from a candid and disenchanted perspective.
The result could be poetically hilarious.
Because every family has its own problems fueled by worries and misunderstandings that have dragged on for years.
But changing eyes could be the heartbreaking attempt to see a serene family. A finally happy family... No. Error. There are no happy families.
