Venezuelan soprano Samuel Mariño studied singing, classical dance and piano in his hometown of Caracas. He made his first opera experiences under the direction of the conductors Gustavo Dudamel and Helmut Rilling. Due to hormonal circumstances, he never got into the voice change. He therefore has a natural soprano voice, not produced by falsetto, which is particularly suitable for the interpretation of baroque music. Michael Hofstetter has been conducting at many renowned opera houses, orchestras and festivals for over 30 years. These include the Bavarian, Hamburg and Stuttgart State Operas, the Theater an der Wien, the Royal Opera Copenhagen, the Karlsruhe Handel Festival and the Halle Handel Festival and many others. He has been nominated several times as conductor of the year by the renowned magazine "Opernwelt". He has released numerous recordings on renowned labels. As director, he has been in charge of the Gluck Festival in Nuremberg since 2019.
