Das Konzert der anderen Art, wie wir es auch in dieser Saison erleben werden, ist ein geistvoll-witziges Parlieren über Musik in Form eines Streitgesprächs. Worüber werden Onkel und Neffe diskutieren, wenn Schuberts Ouvertüre zur Zauberharfe und Bartóks Suite Der wunderbare Mandarin auf dem Programm stehen? Wie sich eine Schauspielmusik zu einer Ballettpantomime und diese zu einer Orchestersuite verhält? Der produktive Streit der beiden Protagonisten, inhaltlich in Szene gesetzt von Thomas Reichert, szenisch und dialogisch in den bewährten Puppenspielerhänden Christoph Widauers, musikalisch hochrangig betreut von den Dirigenten Ádám Fischer und Ivor Bolton sowie vom dirigierenden Pianisten Alexander Lonquich, garantiert zugleich spielerische wie informative Einblicke in die Musikwerkstatt großer Komponisten: Lernen als emotionales Erlebnis.

We will also experience a different sort of concert this season, a spirited, witty conversation about music in the form of a debate. What will the uncle and nephew talk about when Schubert’s Overture to the Magic Harp and Bartók’s Suite from The Miraculous Mandarin are on the program? How incidental music for a melodrama compares to a pantomime ballet, and how the latter compares to the orchestral suite? Learn by experiencing emotion: The fruitful argument between the two protagonists guarantees playful and informative insight into the music studios of the great composers. Thomas Reichert is in charge of staging, while scenes and dialogue are in the capable hands of puppeteer Christoph Widauer. Conductors Ádám Fischer and Ivor Bolton, as well as the pianist-conductor Alexander Lonquich supervise music-making of the highest order.
