We are in the underground of a fishery - a converted former butcher's shop in downtown Coburg.
There lives Rusalka, together with Vodnik, the water sprite. As the father figure who is her caregiver and who accompanies her throughout the story, he is very reluctant to let her out of his wing.
Rusalka longs for love, she wants to break out - out! "From you I would like to depart from these depths, live in the sunlight, suffer manless."


In the abridged opera version of Antonín Dvořák's "Rusalka" - "Fishing for Rusalka" - the water creature tries to find herself by becoming a human. The opera singing runs through the piece with well-known moving songs and arias such as "Song to the Moon" and sets a strong emotional contrast to the cool atmosphere of the vacancy. The place will be revitalized with an immersive opera production.


After the piece, the DJs "Tildeturbo" and "Joke Dunner" put on danceable music.

Wir befinden uns im Untergrund einer Fischerei - einer umfunktionierten ehemaligen Fleischerei in der Coburger Innenstadt.
Dort haust Rusalka, gemeinsam mit Vodnik, dem Wassermann. Als Vaterfigur, der ihre Bezugsperson ist und der sie im Laufe der Geschichte immer weiter begleitet, lässt er sie nur höchst ungern aus seinen Fittichen.
Dabei hat Rusalka Sehnsucht nach Liebe, sie will ausbrechen - raus! "Von euch möcht ich, von diesen  Tiefen scheiden, im Sonnenlicht leben, Menschenlos erleiden."


In der gekürzten Opernfassung von Antonín Dvořáks "Rusalka" - "Fishing for Rusalka" - versucht das Wasserwesen sich in der Selbstfindung, indem sie ein Mensch wird. Der Operngesang zieht sich mit bekannten ergreifenden Liedern und Arien wie dem "Song to the Moon" durch das Stück und setzt einen starken emotionalen Kontrast zur kühlen Atmosphäre des Leerstands. Mit einer immersiven Operninszenierung wird der Ort neu belebt.


Im Anschluss an das Stück legen die DJs "Tildeturbo" und "Joke Dunner" tanzbare Musik auf.
