BaléBallet/Dance without Orchestra
Giselle is a romantic ballet by the French composer Adolphe Adam, one of the most famous performances in the world classical choreographic repertoire. The plot was based on the legend of vengeful jeeps - the souls of girls who died before the wedding. The peasant girl Giselle dies, unable to survive the deceit of her beloved Count Albert, who hid from her his title and the upcoming marriage with Bathilde. Becoming one of the jeeps, Giselle, by the power of her pure love, saves Albert from inevitable death, who came to her grave at night. The ballet "Giselle" is an unsurpassed achievement of choreographic art, the spirit of romanticism embodied on the ballet stage, where Adam's music is not just an accompaniment to dances: it is distinguished by spirituality and poetry, creates images of characters. Ballet art researcher V. Krasovskaya notes: “The spiritual world of ballet characters, embodied in classical, or rather romantic dance, is so poeticized by music, and the dynamics of stage events are so sensitively reflected in it, that a synthetic unity is born, based on the interpenetration of all elements, forming a new quality - musical and choreographic dramaturgy. Giselle at the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theater The world premiere of Giselle took place on June 28, 1841 at the theater of the Royal Academy of Music on the stage of the Opera Le Peletier (Paris). The main roles were performed by Carlotta Grisi (Giselle), Jules Perrot (Count Albert), Adele Dumilart (Mirta). Giselle has been in the repertoire of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theater since 1955. In 1978 the ballet was staged by choreographer P.A. Gusev. In 1989, choreographer K. Ter-Stepanova was invited for a new production. She achieved a unified manner and style, synchronized performance of dance "pas" from the corps de ballet, and, most importantly, conveyed the spirit of romantic detachment. All the famous stars of the Buryat ballet went through this performance: Larisa Sakhyanova, Pyotr Abasheev, Ekaterina Sambueva, Bakalin Vasiliev, Olga Korotkova, Viktor Ganzhenko, Fyodor Ivanov, Larisa Protasova, Tatiana Dudeeva, Yuri Muruev, Tatiana Murueva, Alexei Pavlenko and others. In mid-March 2012, the ballet Giselle was resumed, on which guest choreographer Vyacheslav Mukhamedov worked. The leading parts were performed by Veronika Mironova, Bulyt Radnaev and Bair Zhambalov.
