No piece of music leaves the listener with so many more questions than answers than this opera by the Hungarian genius: Béla Bartók. Duke Bluebeard's Burcht is a special piece of music. Unlike other operas, the plot is not an ordinary love story; you don't see dramatic romance on stage. Instead, Bartók gave us this musical thriller. The story has its origins in a French fairy tale of the same name by Charles Perrault. In the 20th century, the classic story was interpreted in a new way. Under the influence of symbolism, subconsciousness and the rise of psychology, a new mysterious and dark meaning came to light. The basis for Bartok's opera came from the pen of the Hungarian librettist and poet Béla Balázs, a close friend of the composer.
